This page will follow my process into creating this piece.
Here is the initial reference image that was used for creating this piece, the Varvel RV Pump.
I was lucky enough to find some blueprints on the Varvel website to assist in modeling this so that I knew the proportions were correct.
Once I got the bottom half completed, I began modeling the top portion of the same side. Most of these shapes were created using nGons and rectangular splines with shell modifiers added to them.

After receiving some feedback and suggestions from my peers and others with more experience, the connecting piece of the pump was remodeled.
Remodeled some of original pieces.
Recreated some of the circular pieces from the beginning.
